I just bought a few missiles, why do they have a minus symbol in red?

because you have other missles equipped that are stronger than the ones you bought...

Different types of missiles have different power. You can get the stronger ones by shooting movies or going to parties.

All of my missiles have a red minus symbol.

that's because your strongest missles are currently equipped, any other missles in your inventory aren't as strong, and therefore are listed as negative...

Sell missiles when they are nearly used up. Keep an eye on them, when they are 6 ?? or lower, use them to sell.

I haven't tried equipping them when I'm offline yet to see if they hold their charge but, they could be a good emergency weapon for defending yourself?

Mine don't get used up if I'm attacked. I checked that.

 

I wondered what happened when their level dropped down.
