Well i am sorry if i have upset anyone , this is  just my personal opinion and its a forum board discussion, i just think it could of been done better

I have to say I am not with you, Evolution, at least not as you wrote it.  I also have to admit that I enjoyed thinking about your post, because it made me think about my earlier objections to the current voting system from a different perspective.  I still personally prefer the old method of voting and stand by what I said in previous posts, but am beginning to see a good argument for the new system.  I am less certain about my previous objections than I am now, based upon this new perspective.

 

As to the XP/Glory competition you propose, I have nothing against it.  It is clearly aimed solely at the more time-intensive or 'hard-core' and more wealthy diamond-spending player.  This in itself isn't a problem, but the average casual player or free to play gamer will have no chance at all.  Adding such an XP/Glory tournament to what is already there would not be a bad idea.  Replacing something that gives a chance of winning or gaining some benefit to casual or free to play gamers with that contest, seems like a slap in the face to those loyal gamers who suddenly have no real chance of gaining anything from it.  To be clear, I've been both what I'd describe as a 'wallet warrior' and 'hard-core' player at various times during my BBE experience, so I'm not trying to insult that sort of player.

 

The BB Awards in their current format - despite my earlier objections to it - do in fact provide a relatively fair playing field; anyone who makes a film has some chance of getting skill points, diamonds, or some other reward for their effort.  The wallet warriors and hard-core gamers have more chances by making more films, but it doesn't guarantee they'll win.  I have been both a wallet warrior and a hard-core gamer at various times in my BBE experience, so I'm not saying this as an insult to that type of gamer.  If the BB Awards is to be replaced, then I would suggest it be done with some other competition that gives a chance to everyone.  Shutting out any type of player - free to play, whose word of mouth might bring in new paid players, or casual, whose diamond contributions or word of mouth might still be valuable - is bad for the game to my mind. 

 

Even with the old voting system, I'd often see players in the top 50 of the BB Awards who I'd never heard of, some from studios or as 'single players' that I'd never encountered.  I'd hate to see it replaced with a competition that has the same top 50 as the current studio and single player leader boards.  By all means give those players something else to keep them interested, but we still need something to give the other players a chance to win where they can't be shut out by the 'usual suspects'.

 

So in summary, add to the existing competitions by all means, but if you replace the BB Awards with anything, I think it needs to be something that doesn't shut out the hard working casual players or the loyal free to play gamers from any realistic chance of a reward.

The introduction of a new system that does not incorporate movies or voting would move the game in a direction away from the developers game concept. I agree with Hemlocks observation that it would build an elitist imbalance in the game - If game balance is so significantly biased toward the pay to play members, it can seriously destroy a game, I have seen it all to often occur in games that promote in game spending like this one. 

 

Redevelopment of a system where produced titles became a Studio team effort has much merit, as the benefits to team unity - the same ones affected by the current changes - would be tremendously beneficial.

 

After some consideration on this concept, perhaps an introduction of Big Bang Award Categories would be a solution.

Let me add some details to this...

 

Big Bang Award Categories

What we have at the moment is an unintended bias toward gender, in the produced title in voting.

I would presume a game of this genre would have a bias toward males playing the game - a fairly safe assumption ?

If, as a male, one is presented with a choice to vote for big beautiful boobies or a set of balls, guess where the vote goes

Females, The Burrito has happily observed on occasions, have a more sensual appreciation of both the male and female form and would not generally have this bias to the same degree.

But given my theory that the male gender does indeed dominate the player gender demographic, the bias I refer to would be influencing the voting results significantly.

By introducing the categories proposed earlier in this post, that bias is effectively removed.

It also opens the path forward to introducing a studio produced effort in title.

 

The addition of a studio produced title will be a major update to the game in regard to the time required by developers to both code, test and implement. So it would want to be something that improves the game greatly. I think it just might be a justified addition.

 

Here are my ideas on how it could be introduced conceptually,

 

Each studio is allowed to produce a total of one titles in a given week.

Each day, each member who logs in, is able to go to the movie section and select from either work on solo title (same as now)

or contribute to the studio title.

Upon selection of working on the studio title, the boss of the studio is able to select a total of 10 scenes (a number pulled out of thin air ) 

Additional Scenes are able to be unlocked with diamonds, similar to the expansion of studio currently.

Each Scene has a base difficulty of either Ametuer, Semi-Pro, Porn Star, or Elite - also able to be unlocked - either by success in producing a title at the previous difficulty, or by diamonds, or by a combination of both.

Once the scenes are selected, the scenes are produced in the same way as movies are made now, but each studio member can contribute. Each scene has a star rating up to 3 stars, but it is not necessary to achieve 3 stars in all categories to compete in the awards, remember there are 10 scenes - it should be near impossible for a studio to truly achieve 3 stars in all scenes.

The stars produced in the scenes of the movie are totalled at the end of the production.

The total number of stars directly influences the frequency of appearance for the selection in the vote process.

This way a truly great production has more likelihood of winning than a half produced title.

Voting for categories.

Three new vote cards are are introduced - one for each category.

The votes for best male and female are randomly selected 50% on drop.

Players wont be able to tell if the rewarded vote is a vote for male or female category until they receive it.

The Studio votes only drop from Film production and Party missions.

They will also drop for Hard or above difficulty regular missions

Since I made an account. I might as well use it.

 

1st - I just started the game about a month ago but I was able to acclimate to the pre-update video voting. I enjoyed voting for peoples videos based on their 'poster' but found myself voting exclusively for videos from members without a studio. I figured out quite quickly that Studio(s) were beneficial to stats. Being able to help 'loners' felt like giving spare change to the poor.

 

Honestly I would love to have the old system back. Saying that, I have to admit, one of the studio's members is currently riding on top at 1st place within our 'World' (WHICHEVER ONE THAT IS!!!)   And we are NOT a big studio.

 

2nd - I was slightly upset by the change in the map location background pictures. I honestly saw no need for the XXX change. If they could allow the individual player a choice between the two different pictures i would choose the non-nude format. Although it does work rather nicely on the Burning Bernie's map. I'm not prude, I'm just tasteful and that is my opinion.

 

3rd - This is a question rather than an observation. WHERE THE HECK IS WANDA'S SECRET STORE?

I still prefer that a cover is judged by use of tools provided. I found myself at times voting for or against a film because of many other reasons than artistic presentation

heres a simple suggestion, this one is easy.

leave the design the way it is, BUT if you put cursor over film a small popup shows details. DONE FIXED.

 

another suggestion, MANY more choices when producing a movie. you cant be creative with only a few choices.

 

my opinion is that currently all I want to do is pass, I dont like either movie usually. so for the time being Im not voting.

 

thanks for listening to players, please dont kill this game with pay to play like so many games I have quit.

 

one more suggestion.. why limit voting in the forums? seems reading through this thread I burned through my votes... I cannot see sense in asking for suggestions then limiting how many I can agree with.

you can by diamonds with money, it would be cool to buy notes with diamonds like most modern games.

I lost where in the Forum I saw something about 'limiting film entries' for the awards and it dawned on me that

 

What if Each player is permitted a max number of Film entries each week. You can still make films but only your top 10 or whatever number get entered. The player can organize/edit his/her films list in any order or way they wish until the cutoff time when then entries are sent in automatically and the voting begins

 

 

PS: Let's get rid of the 8 hour wait rule, we don't need it. Give us a max number of films per day please and set it up at midnight or something to reset the system, please not the 24 hr wait mistake a few game-makers have made on other sites

Like I said earlier that I'm not keen on the new voting system and that animals and incest related issues should be taken out of film titles and anywhere else in the game ...... maybe I should do a separate post regarding this ...... any ideas?
