Hello everybody!

So, the idea is, to make more fun of the duels. Nothing Hardcore, just little bit spicy.

It would be cool, let's say, if you hit somebody in a duel, a piece of the clothing would be striped/cut off, bit by bit.

Lets say, the Hat disappears with 2 hits, Throusers 3x, Top 3x and so on, till fully naked (or till the law permits).

As you loose clothes, you also loose refinement bonuses.

My studio companion suggested that, if you win a fight to higher levels (yours +10 or 20), you get to "steal" one of their clothing (a bonus for a hard win).

Greeting, and have a nice day, L.

If by 'steal' an item, you mean 'gain a copy of an item', I could get on board.

If they are going to steal a copy of my items that I am wearing in duels, then I am going to change into my best crackwhore outfit, and they can have it

@CAPTC

Not a copy. You loose the fight, you loose one random item. I've inspected the skill points (level 57 or 67) in comparison to mine (47), and it's almost impossible to win a duel like this. But if I did? Who knows :)

If I would win a fight against K1 fighter, I would expect very large sum of €/$. If not, i would probably loose a leg, or arm, or both :)

I know some items are purchased not gained, but, lets say, those would be collateral :), or excluded from.

@CAIT

You have a crackwhore outfit? But, you're a Maid  (smug)

@JANCAN

Private parts excluded :), just an Eve's or Adams leaf.

Interesting idea. when i saw the title I thought you were organising a naked tournament or something.

I'm not sure I can see gaining items this way getting through. The transfer value of some items with refines equates to potentially 1000's of diamonds, and some you can only buy with hard currency.

I really like the idea of item wear though.

If equipment was given a "Durability" statistic it could depreciate the effectiveness of the Skill boosts that item provides by the percentage of durability remaining.

An item with very low or no durability could (percentage chance) "break" if it takes further damage after a fight, causing the broken item to go to the inventory (or to mailbox if inventory is full)

Mysty's could offer an item repair service that costs notes if the item is not broken, and diamonds if the item is broken.

The durability on equipment could be a very minimal amount based on damage taken each hit, irrespective of fight result.

By working out which piece took damage in a strike, theres potential to improve the aesthetic mechanics of fights to be more descriptive and interesting to watch.

eg. Player 1 kicks Player 2 in the leg, Player 2 hops around a bit and returns a punch to the head Player 2 rubs head and throws a missile into the chest of Player 1.

I am completely opposed to the idea of permanently losing items. Waking up every day to 1000 duel results as every Tom, Dick and Harriet on the server tries me, as if I am a lottery ticket? Especially with the randomness that is in today's combat system?

No thank you.

If that happens, I quit.

That is not hyperbole for effect. I would flat out quit.

That's MY stuff. I bought it. I invested time and real money in finding the equipment, in getting it refined properly. With purple refinements being as rare as they are, that is hard, frustrating work.

I won't play any game which gives away my hard work, to someone who cashed in on a one in a thousand shot. Period.

Lala, you need to play longer. Refinements aren't even a thing for you yet. When refinements become important to you, you will understand what I am saying.

My comments above pretty much apply here, too. If items are going to break on a random chance, that is exactly the same as giving them away.

There is enough unpredictability in the combat system already. "Your item just broke" would be a way to degrade zombies faster, I suppose... but losing an important studio fight because my zombie boots broke on a low percentage chance? A LOT of random numbers are generated in a studio fight. If there is a noticeable chance of stuff breaking, fights are going to start turning on who got unlucky with their equipment blowing up. And if there isn't a noticeable chance of stuff breaking, how is that a feature?

Games with item durability generally have non-expensive, defined, predictable game play methods of adding enhancement. I'm not spending money hunting for the right refinement, if the item eventually goes away or requires expensive, repetitive repairs. I think adding item durability would require a complete overhaul of the refinement system.

Not to mention, the apparent conflict of interest for the developers. "Oh, too bad, that ring with the 30% porn star sticker broke AGAIN? A shame that happens so often... That will be 20 diamonds, please!" People will quit over "feels kind of shady" game mechanics, too.

I agree with Captc!

Braking the item and then repairing it, would cost, again, money and/or diamonds. If an item brakes/strips, it is regenerated after the fight, as it was before. Loosing an item would hurt pockets again, so flush the idea down the drain.

I suppose many people would stop playing.

But stripping and not loosing power of the item? Is this possible without much changes to the sistem?

Just asking...

I don't know how much work it would involve. The idea of the fight getting your opponent naked has a lot of appeal.

But on Nutaku, I just have to say: Many players set their characters up to appear naked anyway. :D
