Thanks Tara,
so just to make sure: Item attributes are primarily determined by my (XP) Levels, not my skill levels/combat prowess.
So a lvl 30 player with no items that hasnt spent any money to increase his/her abilities will get the same kind of items as a lvl 30 player with full items that has spent tens of thousands of $ to increase her/his abilities? (of course, items are random, but I mean the input the dice/RNG gets to determine the attributes is the same in both cases?)
I believe that to be correct, because even when I do not actively increase my skills (say by spending notes), I notice the newly acquired items' attributes do get better...
But then again, this could also be because of the small increases I will get from free skill points from Temple rewards, or other missions... so now you have me wondering is it based solely on Level gains, or is it a combination of moving your skills upward.
I'm still thinking it's based on Level, but if someone with more knowledge on the subject wants to add to the conversation... I am I willing to learn...
It might be coincidence, but for me it seems like the game tends to offer items with stat boosts other than what I am focusing on. Like, I tend to go for finesse so I will see a lot of items from rewards with one of the other 3 stats boosted, usually a lot of charisma. It gets to be a back and forth thing when another stat is favored on an item but the total is significantly higher enough to not be able to say no. I've resolved to just go with that a lot of times, even if I don't refine the said item right away. This has worked when working on a career boss. The good part is your favored build always comes back around. Downside obviously is don't get too attached to certain epics.
I should note that I try to keep my basic stats from skill points even and use boosts on gear to achieve a build with more of this or that when I want it.
I swear this happens to me too... and sometimes I think the game is just baiting us to change our profiles / builds. Even so, I tend to sell the items that don't fit my present build, so I am seldom increasing my stats from new items. It's got to be a REALLY good new item to make me want to change the current item out.
Here's hoping I get to unwrap a new item to my liking real soon...
