Every minute or so, I get a notification telling me that I have a new message, but I don't see it. Whenever I open my mail box, it doesn't show any new messages. Then, when I close the mail box the notification disappears, but I get another one after a minute or so.

This happens to me as well when using the mobile app. In this case you can close the app and reopen it and the message will then be available. I am not sure what causes it since it also happens with Hero Zero. To the best of my knowledge support is aware but opening a support ticket is still a very good idea so that they can gather more data about the root cause. For now though closing and reopening will work.
