Is there any real difference between a common item and an epic item in opposed to say a rare item when it comes to winning duels and gaining skill points?

common items usually have 1 stat upgraded, rare 2, epic 3, and ultra rare may have 4...

Anyhow, the more rare/epic etc items are literally harder to find.
