Is there a purpose to the summer missions?

 

I see a lot of the summer missions, they all have the special icon on them indicating that they are summer mission, however completing them seems to be no different to doing any other mission. It's like they have been highlighted for some special reason but the reason isn't apparent.

Just something for players to complete and get some diamonds, skill points and an item if I recall correctly.

Completing a summer mission refreshes all the missions I believe.
