My current disgruntlement in what is otherwise a nicely developing game,
revolves around the excessive costs in refinement of items.
Admittedly, this is what gives a diamond player their advantage most
however
When The reaction I just experienced to gaining an epic item with better stats
than my current equipment comes to surface it makes me take a back step.

That reaction, and I am sure most of you have guessed already, was
"Oh Crud, Not another erm... darn item to erm... jolly refine"
I was fairly sure when I started this game I got happy at items with better stats...

SO....

I Propose an adjustment to the game mechanics in regard to refinements.

It can take a diamond player anywhere up to 400,500,600 diamonds

to eventually get the refinement they require to fit their player build.

And that is on each item.

F2P (Free to Play) characters currently get one (yes ONE) refinement every 24 hours.

Not only is it impossible to create a set worth wearing that is suitably refined,

But it is grossly imbalancing the game as a result.

Keep the advantage for diamond players by all means, but don't destroy the game for others.

Something along the lines of 20 refinements every 24 hours would be a suitable adjustment

I expect that this would allow players to refine one or two items a day to reasonable effect.

For the competitive players out there, that would keep it enjoyable - nobody likes

wasting diamonds on something that just gets canned in a week anyway

because all your other equipment is 100+ stat points better than your refined stuff.

You are absolutely right, when you say, that there is an imbalance in the gameplay for diamond spenders and f2p characters regarding the refinements. I guess this a wanted one, something that should inspire people to buy diamonds. Obviously Playata likes to forget that f2p players are needed in the community of most studios in order to win Studio fights or just as an active person in the studio chat. Unfortunately Playta tends to make their life harder than it needs to be.

However, if you need 20 or more tries to get a decent refeinement, this is both, costly for those who have diamonds and a waste of time for those who play f2p. if you raise the amount of free tries per day, this has to be open for everybody, which also means that Playata is going to earn considerably less money. I don't think they will do that.

I think it would be better if you could transfer a rfeinement from one item to another of the same equipment slot. If Playata would sell this option for twice or three times the amount of diamonds a normal refinement costs, this would be something that diamond spenders would pay and also f2p players could afford with the diamonds they get for free while playing. It would still take a lot of diamonds or days until you finally get the refinement you want to and with this it would still take the f2p players very much longer, but the outcome could be, that a f2p player would be as much of a valuable player to a studio than a diamond spender already is. I don't know how the players of the UK servers are using the refinements, but it has become a habit on german servers just to use the free refinement per day even among diamond spenders, Playata may actually get more diamonds than now, just because there would be more people willing to pay the prize for a transfer than for countless tries of random refinements.

So... For me.... The most times it has taken to get an epic refinement on an epic item.... 39 Attempts

that was enjoyable  (think)

actually, it might be a better idea to 'divorce' the refinements from items altogether... you would still get a certain number of free 'spins' per day (2 to 5 would work, IMO) but you would be filling 'refinement slots', not trying to update items and then trying to match the current refinement level of that item...

Yes then we could make all of our equipment sidekicks and erm.... no its a different game.

Lets go with the refinements on items is cool... it explains why you get the refinement a little

by having it attached to something.

But being able to transfer the refinements... that there is the solution i think...

so... what you're saying is to allow the option to transfer current refinements to new equipment, maybe at a small cost of diamonds?

I could live with that, as long as the refinement is on equipment going into the same slot......
