indeed. people looking / offered better boosts should not be punished.
and as said previously, people will always game the system, new or old.
giving incentives to stay is nice, but i'm worried how the boosts would stack abnormally high, especially for multi-accounts who all only stay in one studio for long periods =S. sorry if i misunderstood the original meaning. i just dislike it when people micromanage incentives in games.
both low and max expanded studios have issues with hopping mostly because it effects their 'studio fight' consistency.
to encourage growth while discouraging senseless hopping, how about a baseball '3 strike' system?
1st strike: 1 free move, no penalty, +24 hours cooldown strike regen, (introduction tutorial)
2nd strike: -2% skill point penalty, +24 hour cooldown strike regen
3rd strike: -5% skill point penalty, +24 hour cooldown strike regen
further strikes refreshes 72 hour cooldown
these small percentages shouldn't hurt newcomers very badly, but will noticeably impact the competitive higher levels who seek to sabotage studio fights. and people would better consider not leaving one studio after being recruited for another comparatively similar expanded studio +/-1% when offered.
i don't think 'Kicks' should count as strikes to avoid abuse. and if it did, the Studio leadership and members were both already in on 'match fixing' like our current situation. but i guess one fix for the german match fixing (hehe FIFA) would be to not allow users to rejoin the same studio 3-5 times in a row. and it gets harder/messy when a sister studio is involved.
i say senseless hopping because there are cases where people feel like they're being outcasted but stay too short a time for both parties to get acquainted
unrelated-ish sidenotes:
i wished there were a way to curb one man studios, but people are entitled freedom after all~
another hopping reason i've seen is when people prematurely join a studio without seeing / agreeing to in house rules.
i'd like to suggest a Global BBE irc channel where ppl can recruit LIVE. and as the recruiting irc channel matures, good recruiting practices would appear standard / normal.
very efficient on those german servers. in the uk servers i've seen top studios' avatars go 'clothless' to reduce skill points to lose studio fights. inefficient personal glory loss
sorry if i was too long winded.
and forgive me great Kate if i've gone off topic. glad to see you came back. #LongTimeLurker
TLDR; its just a game -RR
