Currently it costs 99 diamonds to rename the title.

First place awards 100 diamonds.

Yes there are also rewards for the skill points and some experience points...

The problem is that skill points can be bought with in game cash, not real life cash like diamonds.

Why would people spend 99 diamonds on the remote chance to win 1?

 

With the recent changes made to the voting system - it does make title renaming more attractive, but the cost blows it out of the water.

I may be weighing into this topic a little late given Kate's last post, but here are my thoughts on the matter:

 

99 diamonds for one title change is a joke, to my mind, and I'll never do it.

 

If it were 9 diamonds for a title change, I'd do it every so often and probably spend 99 diamonds or more over time.

 

If it were 4 - 5 diamonds for a title change, I'd do it a lot, and probably spend a lot more than 99 diamonds over time.

 

The point being, that Playata will not get 99 diamonds from me now, or probably ever, for a title change with the current system.  However if they play the long game at a cheaper price, they might well get considerably more than 99 diamonds from me in title changes over time.

I was sure title changes only cost 10 diamonds when I looked earlier today, have to wait until I can do another film to verify this though... unless someone else wants to look ;0

Random title changes have always been 2 diamonds... it's only if you want to write a custom made title yourself, that the 99 diamond cost apples.

 

A custom title does allow you to set the cover up the way you like, then go back and write a title that matches, but IMO isn't worth the 99 diamond cost.

Garm, referring to your screen shot, the 2 diamond cost as Angelica points out is for a random title change.  If you click the pen icon to the right of that main button, it goes to another screen that has a text option that allows you to enter a custom title.  You will see in that window that the cost to confirm this and use it, is in fact 99 diamonds.  I just started a new film, and the price was still 99 diamonds as of a few minutes ago.
