Was there a convention this week?

I have a weekly ds task, but so far the convention has never appeared while I was active.

Yeah, even though I spend at least 6 hours a day in the game, there’s rarely a convention at that time.

Why do some conventions give me energy coupons and others don’t? Is that normal?

I also wonder why it’s not possible to earn notes at conventions.

I depends on the number of shows done in the Convention.  When there aren't many shows completed by the players, all you can hope for is winning an item.  

 

Also, when having a Convention task, I usually only give it a day or 2 max unless it is a week with a Convention Temple or an event that lists the Con times.

"If you have at least 4 shows in the convention, you generally also gain a mission energy voucher" - I found this information in the FAQ.

I did 24 shows during today's convention, so why did I only receive a framed item and experience points?

It is not guaranteed.
