 I have a suggestion ( I sent suggestion ticket & was told to post here for discussion ) , Since it takes forever to collect enough "scents" to get a free "box" or you have to buy them ... instead of just dropping a random item , why not drop a "common , rare or epic box & let players choose an item according to their "style"/ "theme" ... I have collected & bought some "boxes" & my "room" is a freakin' mess ?!? I understand that you want to sell boxes & people will have to buy ALOT to get room as they want but honestly with the "crap" I have been getting I have totally lost interest in even trying ... I think if you let us choose ... people would still buy them to get the rare & epic items . TY ... I hope you would please consider  trying this ... I think it would really make the game fun for all ( spenders or not ) to be able to "show off" your "room"

Be patient. At the end of the day you have to collect all the decorations anyway to get the rewards. If we get the rooms look the way we want it, in just a few weeks, it will shortly get dull to collect the rest.

So far I got several decorations of the same category, wallpapers, floor right, floor front, shelf, three of each already and I can only use one of them but still no door, dresser, floor left, wall center etc. so My room still looks kinda poor. But that's ok, I don't mind at all. Whether I'll make faster progress in completing categories and get the SP sooner or get the room the way I want sooner - in a few months everybody ends up same anyway, at least those who hang tough.

 I understand what you are saying , but if you saw my "toon" & my "room" you would understand ... my room looks like I am gay when I am far from it ... That is rather annoying to me .

Well, if you don't like some of the decorations that you got so far, don't use. Keep it empty, resp. default until you get something better. I wouldn't activate condom packs or the M+F wallpaper in my room even if those would been first I got because they would not represent me the way I am.

It's only 12 days since the decorations are available. Some spent diamonds on the decorations to speed things up so of course their rooms look stunning already but they ain't going much better anymore. Just keep collecting the sensual room scents and in a few more weeks and months you're getting there step by step just like with levels and skill points.

Well, it's an established fact that the game is one of the long breath. It's not about having all done in 1 month or anything, it's about years to keep building (if you hold on that long). So yes, perhaps in the beginning, the room may look a bit single sided. For example, having a female toon with male items or a few female npc's in it, or the other way around, being a male toon with a guy looking into your room. You may like this, you may not like it, but eventually, the room will slowly look better and better to your taste. Do remember that you may not like the way it looks now, but you are not the only one. I have friends that don't spend diamonds, and get a gear-item like 4 days/times in a row. But at the end of the day, their appartment also grows and slowly gets where they'd like it to be.

Since we are getting apartments, how about we have outfits to wear at home? I wouldn't mind putting on a robe or a tank top and gym shorts just to relax.

My issue is that there needs to be a decoration in the dang box you buy with scents!

Because...

 

When you hover, the description says "A box with a random decoration"

 

If they want to dd other stuff too, whatever. There should be a decoration in it because that's what I gave my scents for.

on 4 stars collecting, none have had duplicate decorations yet (same star, same deco) it looks like it isn't possible, but I could be wrong. All of them have opened  at least 10 by now. It sure seems like if you could get a duplicate, one of them would have by now.

 

And sure, in response to the posted suggestion, it would be great if you could choose rare or epic box for a higher amount of scents or whatever. Just, if they are going to sometimes hand you gear instead, the description should say that. And for Pete sakes, make it so the 1st free ones have deco in there. One of my stars got gear in both boxes. I can see a lot of people going "F this' if that happened

I agree with EileenDover. I am collecting scents for decorations. I do not want other items to be dropped instead. I can get enough item from films, missions, and duels. Only decorations should be given when spending scents..

I am becoming very frustrated with the scents and lack of decorations from them. I am getting useless item nearly every time (which I immediately sell) instead of something for my room.  If I am lucky I can maybe purchase 1 per day, and it would be very nice to get a room item and not a lump of coal.

 

I can live with getting a possible duplicate room item but this non-stop dropping of regular epic items is very disappointing.

Need to fix the % of chances to get a deco, or guarantee a minimum # of decorations when you go for the (quite expensive) 10-box set, because the following is just shite (just happened to me) :

You all can count how many decorations you got -19 since the "1" of each category was already the default or empty decoration that everybody got and you can see in success -> Star -> "There's no place like home", how many boxes you have opened,

I thought about 61% was normal for everyone but seeing Asstomic's post and others also telling that they mostly get just useless items, I gotta say that's not fair,

It should be at least a 50% decoration rate. 2 of 10 is a joke! Should get a refund for that.

Ouch. Yeah, the devs really need to work on that. Maybe make it 100% decorations and tune down the amount of scents you get from missions. With a 100% rate it'd still be 69 diamonds per single decoration going with the paying option, which is still quite steep imo.

No refund needed, I knew the risks going in, but damn, it's really not pushing you to try your luck, so it's a little counter-productive even for BBE in the end.

And thanks for the trick to figure out rate of success, I'll check mine out and report here.

Just re-read the description/help of the decoration section in-game, and found this tidbit : 

 

Deco Boxes can contain Decorations or special items, which you can then place in your apartment or wear. If it contains a decoration you've previously unlocked, you'll receive an epic item instead.

 

As of now, there are 258 decorations & 15 'wearable' decorative items (273 total collectibles in the decorations section, counting the 19 everyone begins with). I've unlocked an additional 66, for a total of 85 / 273, which is just under a third, so I guess I had rotten luck anyway when the 10 boxes gave me 8 epic items 

 

On top of that, I am guessing there are more occurrences of 'common' decorations vs. rare ones, so more chances for duplicates that turn into items.

 

Anyway, this explains why you never get duplicates, and is a rational explanation as to why you might see more & more items instead of decorations as your collection builds up.

That makes sense. I guess I didn't RTFM.

 

It appears that this note has been added to the tooltips if you hover over the 1/10 deco boxes and the sensual scents meter.

Perhaps Captain / mods, you could add that point to the game guide FAQ.

 

I would suggest, if it's possible, that there be a note of how many duplicate decorations turned into items when you open deco boxes. e.g. (10 boxes) "You found 4 decorations that you already have, and they were replaced by epic items."
