I have just discovered that there appears to have been a discrepancy in the start time of the new Anniversary Challenge start time.

 

Some of my studio team members started the challenge at re-set (midnight) yesterday having completed the previous football challenge.  

 

I, and other members, on the other hand, only had the football challenge ended and the Anniversary one started at 10pm that same day, giving us only 2 hours left of the first day to start on it.

 

While I understand it may have been a good gesture to some who may have wanted a little extra time to complete the football challenge, I and Im sure many more, actually chose not to complete the recent football challenge, as I had fully completed the previous one, so I was not chasing the items, and chose to concentrate on other aspects of the game.

 

For (only) those who lost 22 hours at the start of the Anniversary Challenge, please could I request we get an extension should we require one, in the interest of fairness?  Also, in future, can I suggest there be an option put in should this arise again, to chose to continue with the current challenge for 24 hours and lose a day on the new one, or stop the current one and start the new one even if it means you wont be able to go back and complete the other one?

BTW, bug reports should always have a ticket. I can try to escalate, but usually the first request I get back, is for a ticket number.

For at least one of my teammates, the event did not start on time either, only 30 minutes after the first event-convention already started (around 10PM ET.)

For myself it was on time, reset Sunday, 7:00 PM ET. But I could still see fan shirts of the previous event on my map, as well as the collections of the anniversary event until my map refreshed.

That is typical, they don't remove all the items from the previous events. 

 

At the end of this event, the reset missions will hang around afterwards, until you use one of them, for example.

Thank you for your replies so far.  Please can you advise how to raise a ticket as Ive not had to do that before?

 

For myself, I am pretty sure I will complete the event well within the time limit, but still wanted to raise the issue as I was sure others would also have been affected and may not have noticed, and dont feel anyone should be at a disadvantage.

At the bottom of the screen, right hand side, you will see crossed wrenches. Hovering over that brings up a menu, and one of the options is Support. Click on that, follow the instructions. Make sure you make note of the ticket number.

Well I knew nothing of this, I had the soccer one just showing on my screen, I assumed once it was over it would just disappear, but obviously I was supposed to click on it, and then refresh, so I have it now with a day and a half to go, I honestly thought these things would refresh when you log in for the day, so I see I got screwed out of this one.

 

I rarely swear at anything, but I have let fly with a few choice words about this one

In the past all of those things reset automatically, the new ones start, but this time nothing, so there is a few of the challenges i have no chance of getting done, they really need to fix issues like this

The collection quests take about 3 hours of concentrated play time. Movies and duels will be the problems. 

 

I got the following response about this issue:

 

I checked the "delay" was due to the fact that if someone did not receive the prize from the football event, they might not have noticed the new one. The event was for 4 days and appeared correctly.

 

Usually events do not run back to back, so I have never thought about this before. It is a similar problem to the way missions and duels work. It seems that there can only be one event running at a time, per person. If you don't end the event by claiming the prizes (why would you wait?), the next one can't start.

 

I don't think the moral of the story is that support doesn't care. I think the moral of the story is, claim your prizes promptly.

The soccer challenge never left my screen capt C, I had no idea there was even a new challenge, I tried to message support twice about it, but obviously no luck, I only found out a few hours back it was meant to be there, there was no reset for the new challenge

You are saying that there was no prize waiting to be claimed, that you had not finished the event, and it didn't go away until you clicked on it?  When you did click on it, I suspect you got some kind of final screen, saying that the event wasn't completed?

 

(I finished the event completely, and claimed all my prizes, so I don't know how those events terminate when they aren't completed. Can you describe what happened when you DID click on the soccer event icon that final time?)

 

There might be a reasonable complaint to be made, that when an event finishes, it should pop up the final screen automatically on your next login.

It was only when a player in my studio mentioned something to me about it, I had no idea what they meant so they took a screen shot of it, then I clicked the event, and it said finished, then I had to refresh the browser again and finally the new one showed up saying 1 day 12 hours to go, in the past all of these events have automatically reset and the new one starts, but not this time

OK.  I have escalated a clarification of the situation. Thanks for the information.  I have made the case that the soccer event (in fact all events) should terminate automatically and bring up the final screen. My suspicion is that it didn't because there is a bug. 

 

[Just offhand, I would guess they will find that the soccer event SHOULD have terminated automatically, but it didn't because the program checked to see if there was ANY event running (there was, the anniversary event was active), instead of checking if THAT SPECIFIC event (the soccer event) was over. But I don't know the code, so I might be completely off base.]

For me, I never clicked on the football event as I completed it the first time round, and although I had been on the game through out the day, it didn't give me the 'event finished' stuff, until 10pm that night, at which time the new event kicked in.  It was only lunchtime the next day when I was being told that people were completing the event that I became suspicious, as I couldnt see how they could complete it in 13 hours!

 

On this occasion, I am OK, and will complete this event in the shortened time I have, but Im glad I have been able to highlight an issue which has clearly arisen and hopefully assisted someone else!

hi i did not have this problem and finished the foot ball and the anniversary  event , but it seams to me if bbe had a bug then the least they could do if offer the 20 skill points to anyone that had a problem only fair thing to do .  just my thoughts  have a grate day everyone .
