Have to like it when it's an hour long convention and the devs are wanting 4m+ fans for it.  Not going to waste much time on that.  Can already see that it is a fail right from the beginning.  The conventions are getting out of hand like that when Temple is not going on.  I did the one earlier so I could at least get some more energy to help find more pandas.  Even then, it feels like it isn't worth doing it much anymore.  I get that the Temple is supposed to try get people to work together as a team.  Just seems like they could do other things than rehash the same type of Temples week in and week out.  Too many mission temples back to back to back....  It gets boring...

There is a term called Cryptomnesia, it describes a condition where information you have learned is forgotten about, yet it is stored away in your brain, and when certain conditions are met this information is recalled quickly leaving us to think this is something we have done or seen before, more commonly known as deja vu, I think the games team are obviously trying to force deja vu into our heads with this next temple challenge...

I don't normally do this, but here is the suggestion I passed along yesterday. I think I covered most everything. (I just want you to know that I am not actually sleeping on the job, it just looks that way.) The way this works is I give pointers to the notes that the developers should read, and summarize the points made.

Notes provoked by the second convention temple in three weeks. Conventions temples are VERY unpopular. There are several suggestions in these notes to improve conventions.  I summarize them below, and include a few of my own:

• The most popular suggestion is to eliminate convention temples. Many players, myself included, believe that convention temples are just a mistake, albeit a profitable one. But if you are going to inflict them on us, don't do them more than once a month. There should be an absolute minimum of 4 weeks between convention temples.
   
• Reduce the advantage of players with unlimited budgets. Reduce the points (or fans) you get for a show, if you use diamonds to accelerate the mission. This can be justified quite easily in the story... rushing through a performance, instead of devoting the proper amount of time, should get poorer turnout from your fans.
   
• Stop with the two hour conventions. Conventions during a temple should be frequent so everyone can get to at least one during their normal play hours. But the conventions should be short. Many players are going to try to make each and every single convention - but it is too much, asking your customers to spend 6+ hours a day clicking at monotonous missions when they would rather be doing something else. 
   
• Polyamory is not a solution. Reduce the price of polyamory (I think it should be free), and fix the interface to notify players when any mission or show completes, rather than just the screen the player is looking at.
   
• Conventions are simply dreadfully boring. They need something to spice them up. Several Hero zero players noted that they know you can do better, given what is available there. Maybe make mini-games (machine gunning pandas was suggested, and I would approve. LOL)
   
• Fix the after-effects of convention temples. Convention temples get huge numbers because the times are known and everyone wants to do right by their studio. The game seems to have some sort of algorithm to set the number of fans required in a convention, to adjust up and down from the numbers received in recent conventions. That means after the temple is over, the number of fans required at regular conventions balloon into laughable numbers. There is no advantage of known scheduling, plus we are all burnt out. Convention temples are bad enough, but to follow one with weeks of completely impossible regular conventions is just a slap in the face. Do us all a favor and adjust the algorithm to tone it down immediately after a convention temple.

It's not just conventions though those seem like they are the worst offenders. It's that every time I blink anymore there is some new thing in place to attempt to get money from the players. I've had it. I'm not spending another penny on this game

convention temples are time consuming and they still favour those with unlimited budgets. This current one however, I had no notification of the first vention either upcoming or having happened. how does that happen?

It needs to be looked at if theres a problem with the algorithm.

 

either way, ill be doing what I can to get the essentially free cash and xp even though my studio has no chance of ever coming top and the only time I ever came first didn't count because it was a failed vention lol

This sure looks like the case.  Would really be nice if they had some other money making temples to alternate the convention temples with, but alas that's an idea that some are not quite ready to see the value of yet.  So on with the Convention temples!  This is what 3 in 7 weeks now?  Something like that.....

The temple is kinda the only way to prevent the Event Conventions from failing.

Nobody really spend diamonds in them as the winning show & most shows - and top 10 prizes are replaced by (last Year's) event items. We can easily get them in shop. films, parties and missions also. Some already got them last Year or from the casino. So why put effort in conventions and waste time for nothing?

 

Even with the temple - the mission boosters were good enough to make top 10 in event conventions without spending any diamonds and to get just a gold framed item with mostly less attributes, most already own the sewing pattern - to drag along until the next sell items temple.

 

So playata, why does every event need it's conventions in the first place?

You actually would earn more money, if you keep convention temple out of events and keep the regular prizes instead. And also keep more players active by not doing the same temple so often over and over again while the last duel temple was about five months ago for example.

Ouch. Nevertheless, I don’t think I’ll ever be ready to see the value in that one particular Temple idea of yours. As you might have noticed by now, some things just annoy me way more than conventions, which I can always opt to simply not do. So I'm not in favor of the game promoting the very same thing I don’t like by turning it into a special Temple. Plus I really don’t believe that another diamond-based type of Temple would stop the devs in their neverending pursuit of getting players to buy and spend more diamonds as evidenced by all the new features like outfits, buyable party tickets, polyamory, surprise boxes, extra storage tabs, special collections tied to diamond purchases etc. We would simply have more shitty Temples demanding diamond spending at the expense of those that are fun to do.

They are on vacation. That's also the reason why the current temple was announced two weeks ago already.

But it's a voluntary thing of them to announce, not a responsibility. It's gonna be a surprise this time for everyone.

I can understand the only namechange that would seem to make sense for us would be "Death & Taxes" by now.

But still there's a fight each week. The Den, SStuds, HMP, Andro... They haven't given up yet. And neither should you.

not under my reign, the best we have placed has been 6th...which is pretty damn good considering we aren't cheating now and have lost all of the 300+ level players

Temple 100 was collecting rare coins. With 100 temple challenges gone, we can do a count of the different types with easy to calculate percentages.

Buy skill points 5

Panda Plushies     5

Strength missions 5

Charisma missions 4

Fight missions     4

If you count all the different types separately you get the numbers above, with only the top two in double digits.

If you count all skill mission temples together, they add up to 16, while all collecting item temples (plushies, coins and sheets) total 12.

I don't know about everyone here but I for one, am finding temple challenges repetitive and kinda boring sooooo guess I'm trying to suggest its time for new temple challenges?
