Just a niggle, but why was a convention, vital for this week's temple, and, for that matter, the Easter event, scheduled to crash into the maintenance? Or will it continue once the servers are back up?

Thirty minutes into a 90 minute convention during a convention Temple and at 8am..... the server goes down for maintenance scheduled for 7am. During the convention. LOL.
Really?

That's what prompted me to post this question
Maintenance seems to have been adjusted for Daylight Saving Time as it occurred at 07:00 BST (GMT+1) and the convention was scheduled to start at 06:30 BST

More than unfortunate, it was seriously stupid ... especially since tomorrow is the last day of Temple and these last few conventions can make the difference in the rankings.
I doubt the convention will continue once maintenance is over, but not positive.

It is unfortunate, but since everyone got disconnected at the same time nobody gained an advantage.
It's an Easter Convention, those to which one of the 5 special Easter item-rewards is tied.
Not everyone is online both night and day so it's not really so much "not an advantage" as
"we're just all screwed the same way".

I'd rather be screwed a bit differently xD
Having said that I would suggest lodging a Ticket on this issue if you haven't already.
Its not the best way to deploy a convention...
I wonder.... was anyone actually doing it ? xD

I think we should also note the need to adjust the notification of maintenance time to reflect users local time the same way it does for convention times.

maintenance ended & convention is still running (but we lost about 50 minutes!)

It indeed was quite an unfortunate timing. Sadly, we know every 3 weeks on Tuesday (morning 7am GMT) we get the update/maintenance.
I simply put 1 show in for the Easter missions, continued 'till maintenance on regular missions. At least I still got to finish my Easter convention item. I was taking in consideration that the conv was going to fail with the unfortunate timing.

It's 7am UK time (it's been adjusted for DST and uses BST instead of GMT/UTC)

As I thought, it was pointless task raising a ticket about this. The initial reply was, quite frankly, vague. When I asked for further clarification, the responses became even vaguer (if that was at all possible). Still none the wiser what "parameters" they reset on my account and I don't accept that the maintenance was "unplanned".

Seems like a big charley foxtrot to me... I was trying to get on when I thought their maintenance window was open. I think I got a few shows in. I know that my studio has a few on at that time, too. However these things are scheduled should not be doing it during a maintenance window since things can and will go wrong at a moment's notice. Sounds like a newbie...

It did. The rule is quite simple, "Don't quote the contents of tickets, or ticket responses". Moderators generally have a fair amount of leeway, but not regarding this. If you directly quote a ticket or a response from support, your post will be hidden.
I know some of you troublemakers are going to scour the forum for a post where a ticket was quoted. If it really makes your day to find a post I will then have to hide, go for it. Otherwise, please find more productive uses of your time. All you will really be proving is that we missed one.
In love with my Baby.
