and tell them thanks for their caring attitude, am going to lose 2 high level players from the studio now just cos they dont care a toss

I have escalated the name change issue to the next level, confirmed the ticket numbers, and they will take a look. 

 

These kinds of issues are dealt with confidentially, so the rest is between John/Jan and support. Unfortunately, that means I will not have further updates to pass along. Let's cross our fingers and hope for a quick positive resolution.

They closed the ticket.  Ivorbigun is right that they all they care about is themselves not the players.  They didn't bother to read any of this or take it seriously.  Needless to say, I'm ticked.  I wrote them a nice letter on how to add this as a feature but no.  I'll retire the character soon.  One less person who buys diamonds here.

I have been fairly lenient regarding complaints about support issues that are not resolved to player's satisfaction. But there is a line to be drawn between reasonable complaints, and making repetitive direct attacks. Please confine your comments to specific issues, and keep them civil. Thank you.

Ivorbigun is right though that they don't care about how to help players stay interested in playing.  Making a bad decision for the name and having the option to change it later should be there.  But no, have to live with it.  Rather do other things than this but still have a certain responsibility to the studio and the people that are part of the team.  This isn't life and death so I can walk away.

I think this whole thread has become rather unhelpful. I am sorry you have not gotten your name change. I am sorry that there is no feature to allow you to change your name yourself. But that is where it is.

 

If you want to continue to lobby for getting a name change feature added, make a new note to politely describe the feature you want, or find an old one and post a supporting comment, and try to get others to respond in favor. That will carry a lot more weight than angry or snide attacks on support, who are only following the policy set for them.

 

If you wish to continue to get the name changed for your current avatar, you will have to describe why you think support made you pick that name, and thus why they owe you a name change. Tickets can be reopened, so you can make your case directly with support. But those specific details do not belong here. We can sympathize, but you need to make your best case to support via the ticket system.
