I can't seem to win at Burning Bernie.

 

I either haven't earned enough diamonds to use or I run out of time.

 

Ideas?

just keep banging away at it each time you get a ticket... each mission brings an equipment piece...

 

these will either be an improvement over a piece you now use, or they can be sold and the notes spent on stat points to improve your character...

My character keeps getting it's ass kicked.

sooner or later, either by adding better equipment, or by directly raising your stats, you will overcome the obstacle...

To be honest, even I lost to Bernie many times..  But I'd suggest you keep some equipment on the side so you can modify your stats after each fight to see which combination of skills gives you the edge over Bernie. This is what I did to win against him for the first time. Also keep some notes handy, you might want to buy some skills or improve your finesse to avoid his hits. 

 

Otherwise to get access to the other parts of the party you will need diamonds and also a required amount of fans.

I've got as far as the VIP section but it's 39 diamonds to keep going, I tried it once but I ran out of time after that and I have a party ticket right now but I don't think that it's worth it because I don't have a lot of diamonds right now.

Save your gems up.. It is worth the wait. Let me know how it goes next time.

Try to see if the items on offer till where you can reach is worth it. If you think that this specific item is worth the diamonds and hard work then go for it. If you think you might get an item that has a similar value at the shop with lesser diamonds then don't go for it. You would not want to spend a lot of diamonds only to get ''halfway" there.

Yeah, I might just play with the idea for now and when I've built up my diamond stash and primary batteries, then I'll go for it but I'm saving every diamond for missiles right now, for a goal in my list of successes.

And at the end ......
