This doesn't cover the things people do on their own for unknown reasons like pasting a long title over their star's face, nor the phenomenon of many such covers showing up in the top 50 or even top 10. Yikes!

Sounds like a nice start to a list of elements to be avoided in the making of movies.  There is no accounting for bad taste - some of which I have been guilty of.

Yup, it's stuff I normally avoid voting for or using on my own covers. Though, if I already have my film done for the following week, I may just click through the shoot and let it be whatever random garbage get's dished out. i did one time intentionally do what I considered to be a bad cover, hiding my star entirely behind a row of photos. wound up in top 100 somehow. I guess people liked the costar,lol

And referring to women as sluts? That's a bit much.

 

References to animals and family members is also a bit off.

 

Bestiality and Incest are not acceptable.

 

Also referring to Religion isn't a good look either.

Yeah, the grandparent thing gets me but I like the black font.

I've seen a total of probably 2 instances of black font use since they added it that actually looked better than the other options would have and where I had to admit that it was a good choice. I was a graphic design major in college. I change it whenever it comes up for free. I even try to change it sometimes when it comes up on ballots I'm voting on. That don't work too well, lol but my cursor moves to find the toggle to change fonts on it.

I'm in agreement with most of what's been discussed here... Family, Animals, Grandparents/Relatives aren't all that 'sexual' in my eyes either... I suppose it's all in context of whomever's creating the film, though..  I myself look for the creativity in the film covers and titles, and usually select someone who's taken a chance with a title or special effect.. 

 

As far as religion goes, I'm not religious in real life and it doesn't bother me, since I'm guessing the references may have something to do with the Temple of Unfulfilled Desires theme..

I have had relatives in the porn industry. The economics of the industry is all niches.  90% of the population enjoys only about 10% of the stuff produced. But they truly enjoy that 10%.

 

Some of those titles are for people into 'taboos' or 'sexually unavailable people'. Unless it is actively offensive, I urge a little tolerance. We all have our kinks and fetishes and areas we aren't interested in - but others may find YOU to be the weird one. Just saying.

No. In regards to Religion for me it's more about the titles ... "Sindy's Prayers" for example. I just think it sounds wrong in a porn setting and I am NOT religious either. If I was then I doubt that I'd be playing this game, LOL.
