This is the place to discuss all things Patch Notes 2017.11.21.

 

 

Per the notes (and there are a quite a few this time)...

 

New Features
General
• At the Flaming Wheels Party, a new item set can now be obtained.
• The respective last boss of a party section now grants a skill point as additional reward.
• The information about the start of a new convention is now also displayed during a running mission or while at a party.
• During a temple event which requires participating in conventions, the times for the conventions don't change anymore.

 

Polyamory
• Missions and parties can now be carried out at the same time.
• The polyamory can now be activated like a booster for one week, at a cost of 99 diamonds.

 

Parties
• The chance of finding a party ticket has been increased massively.
• The "Party Ticket Available" dialogue has been revamped. You can now select and visit a party directly. 
• Parties can now be started using a party ticket or diamonds.
• All not yet unlocked parties can now be started with diamonds.
• From now on, you can only start one party per day.
• A party ticket is now only valid on the same day it was found and it will expire afterwards.

PS: It looks like parties just became a significant daily player.  Possible set-up for Party Temple parlay?

The new set and the 3 extra SP per party are quite welcome!

The polyamory thing... I'm sure some will find it useful.

It's not my thing, but it might boost convention participation.

This however...

 

• The chance of finding a party ticket has been increased massively.
• Parties can now be started using a party ticket or diamonds.
• All not yet unlocked parties can now be started with diamonds.

 

I find it's dumbing down the game - quite a bit even.

There was a relatively easy way to gain a party ticket daily already.

Making this:

 

• From now on, you can only start one party per day.
• A party ticket is now only valid on the same day it was found and it will expire afterwards.

 

actually a step down for some players.

There's no more chance of doing two parties a day.

That will make for quite boring (and predictable) party temple runs.

Being able to unlock them with diamonds... It won't actually hurt the game, I'm sure...

But it is yet another way of rewarding money over skill.

 

I'm not actually complaining.

I'm sure for a lot of players it's quite welcome.

It's just a shame to see things getting "fixed" that weren't broken.

Polyamory 99 diamonds a week? I can guarantee this is a feature I will activate never.

Dissolving party tickets? I'm not a fan. I don't mind being limited to once a day. I don't feel like doing parties every day myself, but I know others who will do as many as they find tickets for. If they can manage to get another ticket, why should it be worthless? Especially during party temple, as Analis  pointed out above. That's the whole nature of the competition in those temples.

Sorry, but this one seems like it was moved on too quickly without nearly enough thought.

Thx for sucking a lot of the fun out of the thrill of finding a Party Ticket.   Since I am very active, I tend to find one per day most of the time.  Now, when I can most likely find one early in the day, there is no suspense or excitement of finding a 2nd one in a day.   One idea I came out with would be to be able to "magnify" the rewards for your party by finding a few more during the day.  Maybe get additional skills from the final boss or something extra. 

 

Being stuck to only one, making them easy to find, and having it go POOF at the end of the day is not helping the game.

That's the easy part. Another will show up very quick.

 

For me, a lot of tickets will go unused. I don't do parties every day or as soon as I get one every time. Only if it's party or sell temple do I use them as soon as I get one. I don't like the idea of a game trying to make me feel like I have to do 'this activity' TODAY.  I'm generally doing a lot of things at once with a lot of windows open. I'll do a party when it slows down, if I feel like it. Polyamory doesn't make what other things I'm doing more manageable, it would just make what's happening in one of my windows more hectic.Certainly never paying diamonds for that to happen.

I'm guessing they're trying to increase/improve attending these parties with the added skill point bonuses and the new gear grinds...

The skill points are the saving grace of this for me. It's each section boss, so up to 3 per party. (would be nice if they threw you a 4th for the complete so you could fill in a whole row).

I tested just to see, and as I suspected, you can still leave the party and run a short mission or do a convention show if one is on during the wait after a failed p[arty mission. So, if you could manage to do those things before, you still can without activating the polyarmory. The poly just lets those run at the same time.

How do you mean, 'takes it away' ?  You mean, you HAD a party ticket before the game change update, and now you don't ?

 

I personally didn't see if I had one prior and if it was gone after the update.

 

Supposedly it is easier to find party ticket, as we are expected to do one per day now.

I grabbed one right before the update and played it out afterwards.

I'm thinking Rineke is refering to losing what would be a 2nd earned ticket.

My view is that this is actually a boon for the casual player.

 

Really active players do a ticket a day anyway.

Casual players can do it now, too.

And get skills in the process.

 

True, polyamory lets some players do more in their online time.

So rich, time constrained players will benefit as well.

 

But most of us here in these forums are quite active, and so we may failing to notice benefits not aimed directly at us.

On NU and US2, both stars were holding tickets and both were gone because of the time of this patch being implemented. I got online about 1 1/2 hours after start of game day which is very early for me (like 4:30 AM.) On my UK stars, both also had tickets and those are on a countdown that will expire at reset today. I probably won't find the time to run the parties on either.

Interesting. NU1 star got a ticket within 10 minutes. US2 hasn't seen one all day and is almost finished for the day

So the Devs took this stupid idea and magnified it to the extreme.  Really?   A Party Ticket temple where we can only find 1 ticket per day max?   Wow, such drama, such fun.......NOT!  I am not sure what the end game is for this but put me down for one player completely against this decision.  I thought I hated convention temples but this is going to be a very close 2nd.

 

What's next?  A movie temple where everyone can only do a single 1 hour movie per day?

You know, I had this idea I ran by studio mates on the NU server. The idea was to be able to earn an anytime party pass as part of a success for completing the party collection for each party. I can give more details if anyone is interested, but the main point is that their immediate reaction was that they didn't like the idea. Most felt it would be giving an unfair advantage to players that already had one. I remember saying then that it could be given a 24 hour cooldown so that at max, they could use the pass and whatever ticket(s) they found. The idea was still not liked much so I never brought it to the forum.

Dead horse. whatever. I still think it was a much better idea than this. The player would at least be earning that perk and we'd still be able to keep a ticket to use when we are ready to. I let 2 pass me by on one star this evening, and I don't give a rip if it's party temple. I've already done a party on 2 stars today. I'm not doing another before reset. Period. If I could have kept it for tomorrow's start, I'd have grabbed the 1st one

lol so after the above rant, I get yet another shot at a ticket right at the end of energy. I took it this time. So, with reset still 17 hours away, maybe Jenn will work in a party somehow around the holiday meal.

I still dislike this patch a lot.

It has been confirmed that a party ticket started before reset, can finish after. Further that does not count against the latest day's party count - you can find or buy another ticket and run it.
