it would be awesome to have an open/public chat room so you could chat to other players, mingle and make new friends,

That is seriously a awesome idea, maybe like a bit of a niteclub stlye theme to it, to keep in the the style of the game

I like it. I thought to suggest it before actually and I think I decided not to when I thought about the public chat in another game I play and thought "do we really need that?" lol. Still, I support the idea. I would just like to see it have some good privacy and blocking options built in.

I just have one warning: this is indeed an adult themed game, but not everyone is going to be interested in everything likely to be in a server-wide chat.

 

So individuals MUST have the ability to turn server chat off.  And further, I would suggest it start in the off position, by default.

 

I will leave the question of who moderates such a chat room as an extra credit exercise.  (Hint: I am not at all interested in such a role.)

CAPTC If indeed a chat room was made and you needed a chat room moderator, I would definitely be interested in such a position.

Maybe a private message chat box? So players could chat one on one in private but with mute and block options.

I'm surprised it's taken this long to have something put in for an overall group chat room. Plenty of other games have it and are moderated pretty well. For a game like this, I'm sure there will be some looser rules.

I have no idea why server wide chat is not supplied. I do know this is not the first time such a feature has been asked for... But there hasn't been any improvements to chat at all since I have been playing.

 

I suggested a new chat room on a per studio basis, that players could toggle individually.  IE - an adult room within the studio, for multi-player activities that don't annoy non-erp members. That way there are no moderation issues, either - bosses and producers would still be policing their own chats, nothing required by playata.

 

I would love to see additional emojis as well.

 

Of course, the ultimate would be for each player to have a private channel, and they can invite anyone to that channel. But that is a lot to ask, i think - there are plenty of third party, commercial/free chat rooms available.

It would have to be heavily moderated, as I'm sure all ages play.  Knowing that is it even worth it?
