Just for fun, silly ideas we may have  about the game. Game specific. I'm not superstitious in RL at all, but there's certain things in BBE that seem to happen quite a bit. Maybe, probably all poppycock, but who really knows what is programmed in?

Here's some of mine...

1. Buying an epic item from the shop for diamonds almost always guarantees that I will receive a better item for the same slot from somewhere else in the game within a couple hours. The 1st time is fine since it gives a title. After that, I usually wait

2. Missiles almost always go flying on the last or 2nd to last duel you need to complete a duel or thrown weapon dick starter.

3. If I don't stop and actually watch my star fight a hard fight mission, they tend to fail more often. I don't know what they do. Take a nap? have lunch? Whatever, but it seems like it fails a lot.

4. hitting top 10 in BBA in the 1st 2 days means expect to end below 20th place, if not lower.

5 the thing I need on one star, I will almost always get on another

6. spending a lot of diamonds on a film seems to ensure that the game auto-generates several really cool covers during the rest of the week.

anyone else?

i think the higher the level of courage you have, the more likely you are to win a duel against a well matched opponent

would make sense by terminology, at least. I have also experience that just opening the duel page and clicking the one highlighted often gets a win, even if the stats say they should beat me. Opposite too. If I pick one with 3 green, a lot of time, I get killed. It's a set-up! ;)

so does that mean you just do like 1 or 2 duels an hour so it stays close to full? It would also explain why it can be tough to get that last win when you are empty and waiting on the thing to refill to fight again.

and does not shaving help? If so, maybe I will stop  (silly)

oh, no... i burn my courage down to the nub when i first log in.  It fills much faster when it is empty.

I do not duel for glory.  I duel in quantity, and am not shy about beating up on people who have no chance against me.  It is not personal, it doesn't make me feel powerful to defeat overmatched opponents.  But it is also not my fault that the game rewards duels with exactly what i want to strengthen my character. I farm duels for wins, for sellable gear and for notes.

If the one red number is 5 digits long, it's probably not a good move to click.

Or, if it's 666 (pig)

I can't duel enough over here... Love popping people any chance I get, and it was great when we had 5 courage trophies since the fist refills a lot quicker... I like to take chances against opponents who have 3 or more higher stats, and usually go through a few missile stacks daily... Some players drop easily for me, and others I haven't won yet against, but I enjoy this part of the game (especially when you can't find a party ticket to save your life in this Party Temple week)

I don't duel much as a pastime, unless i'm really bored, which is almost never since I play multiple stars. I'm much more into the film making part of the game than anything. I duel when I have a task or success that I have to complete and then I take an approach like Capt described. I find people I can beat to get it done. They'll get over it. If not, they will be grumpy a long  time :P. I usually look for people not in a studio who would not have those bonuses and often, those ones are inactive, so it's 3 quick wins +profit. I did that to get those 5, 10, 20 in a row successes and the fitness set

A commonly made and pretty gruesome mistake.

It actually involves bribing the party's bouncer with silver coins.

Or under silk sheets. Can't remember. Just try both out to be sure.

The more items you swap out to improve stats for a skill mission, the better your roll.

Yes. At the point where you completely forget what you started with and do an instant finish for diamonds to boot is almost guaranteed success. Think I do this almost every party

My superstition is never attack another player 3 times in a row and win 3 times in a row, or you get retribution from the studio boss of their studio in question, a few times I have done it, then WHAM..... Take that..... lol

So what, CCG?  You will almost always net positive glory, and whatever you get from the three wins.

I would argue this is not superstition as much as it is dumb players making silly gestures.

Most likely those bosses are going to hit you anyway. The few 'headhunter' bosses who take 'revenge' for their players quickly learn they don't have enough courage to avenge everyone, and even the most aggressive eventually realize they are pointlessly wasting courage on low glory fights.

There are many players on my 'avoid when possible' list. They have politely asked me to refrain from hitting them. There is typically plenty of targets, so if asked civilly, I will respond civilly. (In all cases, during those conversations, I state that during dueling temple, it is no holds barred. Everyone so far has understood that exception.)

Only a few times have I asked for studio mates to join in dueling particular players. Our studio has red-dogged a couple of people, who persistently, obviously, and sometimes proudly, wait for our players to change outfits for skill tests. But in all cases, the situation was resolved more by asking the person to politely stop, rather than beating them into submission.

But I am not *quite* a saint, yet.. There are a couple of persistent jackasses who are on my 'crap on them every day' list. I must admit, I am not above annoying those who persistently or intentionally exhibit poor sportsmanship. These are the people who belittle opponents that they beat, or who cry incessantly about 'unfair duels'.

Actual superstition: Watching a duel play out instead of skipping it, gives me a better chance to win. Eileen said the same thing about fight missions above, but I think it applies to duels, too.

My apologies CaptC,

For me i looked at it like a superstition, as the way it panned out on me each time, it wasn't a complaint, more of something I even get a chuckle from, but I am guessing I worded it wrong, so sorry I meant not to cause any offense

Not the slightest offense taken.  Just a pet peeve of mine. Dueling is not something to take personally, but some people take it personally to a fault.  My apologies if I sounded mad at you, not at all the intent.
