Right now, studio fights are very difficult to review. The options to "Start from the beginning", "Start from your character", "Skip completely" are rudimentary at best. The replay is also only at one speed.

I think this causes two problems:

1) If a studio boss or producer wants to review a fight, it is really painful. Often you want to check the equipment a particular player is wearing. Or how many crits your opponents scored. Or why opponent X defeated five of your studio mates. Or to gather any other information about why you lost that fight you expected to win easily. But you have to plow through everyone, in order, and if you miss some information about a player, your only option is to basically restart. Gets very tiresome the fourth time through a fight trying to get to a particular part.

2) In anecdotal information, even casual players simply skip the replays. At best, they skip to their own toon, watch their own fight, then skip to the end. This means many heroic performances are simply missed, by everyone. I've had players say in chat, "I defeated five players that fight!" but just did want to wade through the rest of the fight to see their heroics...

My suggestion:  I can live with one speed of replay, if I can skip to a particular player from either studio.

My suggestion is that list of players for each studio should be live. Clicking on a player's name, from either studio, will take you to the first action taken by that player. The rest of the interface need not change.

The function to jump to a particular player's actions seems to already exist, so this should hopefully be relatively easy to implement. (Easy for me to say, not having access to the code.  :D )

What Capt said.

Current replays are way too tedious to review.

If "skipping to a certain player" would be too cumbersome to implement though...

Perhaps something like a "champion" in a studio fight could be chosen?

All too often a smaller player gets overlooked while having slaughtered like 5 tougher opponents.

I don't think it should be hard to insert a calculation to determine such a "champion".

And it would do wonders to morale.

Now that my char has been deleted...

I finally am just as relevant to UK2 as Maalena always has been.

Hey there - Capt, Analis -

So to recap, the suggestions from both postings are:

  1. Fast forward to a particular player of either side.  Click on a player's name to do so.

  2. Have the game system calculate, and declare a "hero" of the match, kind of the way sporting events do sometimes with "stars of the game".

Sounds good - these ideas will be forwarded to the staff for consideration.

Thank you for your solid contributions...

oh the novelty of that sounds very fun @Analis,

seeing studio fight report summaries with funny names attached to things like

most wins (pit lord), most hits, most dodges, most damage, etc.

That's nice scurrvy.  :)

Put some funny/heroic/uplifting stats at the front of that report, but if you REALLY want to make my day, the report should have a quick summary for each player underneath that. List refinements, damage done, damage taken, other summary stats... but definitely list refinements and ammo stats. Most of the time I am reviewing fights, it is for what we call 'sticker patrol': Do you have your pornstar sticker on, and do you have ammo equipped?

The idea of just looking at a report that TELLS me that, instead of having to derive it, sounds heavenly.

More suggestions - thank you again Capt, and Scurvy.  These will be forwarded in the next suggestions submit.
