My name is Paige and I'll be your journalist this month for the Garage Interview!

Our star this month has been mentioned in nearly all the interviews from the last six months!  She leads the UK2 server in glory and probably stats too.  Everyone please give a warm welcome to Emara!!

1. Hi! How are you? Please tell us your username, and the servers you play on. Tell us - what motivated you to choose the name and server(s) for your star?

Well, my user name is Emara, and I originally started on server UK1. Later, I got the option to move over to UK2. The second server wasn’t nearly as populated, and so there were more opportunities for advancement. As for the name, Emara, it comes from the book “Hunter’s Bounty.” I chose it because I thought the character was quirky.

2. Tell us about yourself. How was your life before becoming a pornstar?

The only thing I can tell you about myself is that I am a self-employed graphic artist, and a self-published starving writer.

3. Who's your favorite pornstar?

I don’t really have a favorite porn star. The days of Traci Lords and Chrystal Canyon have long since passed. Today’s porn stars are more plastic and silicone than flesh and bone. Besides, I’ve always preferred the more subtle approach to sexuality. Sometimes less is more.

4. How did you start playing Big Bang Empire? Did you hear about the game from your friends, or maybe an advertisement?

I can’t really recall how I started playing Big Bang Empire, I think I simply stumbled on an advertisement, and curiosity got the better of me.

5. When did you start to play Big Bang Empire?

I started my career as Emara on January the first of this year.

6. Do you remember the day you started playing Big Bang Empire?

I can’t recall too much about the first couple of days. I guess I simply when through the motions, like everyone else. The only thing I can remember was going through every single possible combination of features when I created my avatar for the first time. Not knowing anything about the game, I wanted to make sure it was perfect, or as perfect as the selections would allow.

7. What do you like the most in the game?

For me, the game is a distraction, in that it doesn’t require too much thinking. I’m on the computer all day, so I keep it running in the background. Every so often I’ll visit the game, where I’ll start a mission, fight a few dual, work on a film if I have in progress, read through the studio chatter and then it’s back to work.

8. When you log in the game, what do you do first?

The first thing I do, when I log into the game, is to check with the studio to see the outcome of the last fight, and report for the next one, if it’s been set. I also check where we stand with Temple points, which is something new.

9. What are your favourite items?

I have to say my favorite items are those that don’t affect my appearance, such as the hats, the necklaces, or the gadgets. That way I don’t have to spend diamonds on the sewing machine, so I don’t get a mismatching outfit. But, if I have to pick just one, I’d go with the gadgets. I’m always looking for something that does more damage.

10. What is it like being a leader of one of the best studios in the entire server? Is in an easy task?

I never considered myself to be a leader, even though I’m in the top ten. We’re all moving in the same direction, I’m just further up the line than most.

11. Do you have an anecdote you'd like to share with us? A fun quote from a co-player perhaps?

I don’t know if you’d consider this an anecdote, since it’s not really funny, but I’ve been a member of the Champagne Room, twice. The first time was as RisaShimo. I was invited by KatetheSpanka and was there when the studio reached the 100% mark. I stayed a member until I forced to abound the game due to… well, life. As luck would have it, things worked themselves out, as things usually do, and about a month later, I decided to rejoin. I thought about reactivating my old career, but I always felt bad about leaving the studio, seeing as they temporarily dropped to number two position on the Leaderboard. So, I started a new career as Emara and tried to learn from my previous mistakes. I had planned to go it alone but, much to my surprise, was once again invited to join the Champagne Room by, none other than, KatetheSpanka. I never told her about being a previous member, and I’m guessing she never found out until… well… right about now.

12. In your opinion, what is your greatest achievement so far in Big Bang Empire?

I guess I’d have to say my greatest achievement, so far, was reaching the top of the glory board, not that I set out to do it. For me, it was never about being number one, it was all about the missions. Reach 150k glory points, reach 175K, 200K, 250K. The next stop 300K. Unfortunately, the higher you go, the fewer points you win in the duels, so it’s taking longer to reach the next milestone.

13. Have you set any particular goals to achieve?

I haven’t set any long-term goals, only short-term ones. I choose one of the missions and concentrate on that.

14. Have you taken part in a convention? What's your best position in which to qualify?

I try to take part in the conventions when I can, and if I’m in the top ten, I’m happy. It usually means you get something worthwhile. I never try to win them, it’s just too expensive.

15. You are one of the top players in Big Bang Empire. What is the secret of your success?

There is no secret to success, there never was. I’m no better than any other player. The only difference is, I have the opportunity to play longer. Therefore, I finish more missions, gain more experience, fight more duels and move up the glory list faster.

16. What are your tips for beginners?

One advice, I always give new players, is if they’re ever in need of batteries, just add all the top players to your friends list. They don’t know you’re  doing it, and , If they’re like me, they don’t read who they give batteries to.

17. Big Bang Empire creates friendships. Have you created any kind of bond with another player? Tell us who, and how.

Personally, I don’t know about creating friendships. I’m afraid I’m a card-carrying introvert, heck, I’m almost a hermit. Give me a long gray robe, a lantern and cave to sit in, and I’m quite happy. It’s not that I don’t like people, I’ve just never been very good with the whole social interaction thing. I read through the chatter in the chat room, but I seldom engage, unless, of course, I’m asked a question.

18. Is there any player you look up to - that you admire? - If so, who and why?

I suppose the player I’d admire the most would have to be BeckyLynch. Not only because she’s the highest leveled player in the game, and the boss of the highest ranking studio, but she has a passion for the game that rather contagious and maybe a little unorthodox. She has a way of setting players at ease and making them feel welcome, and that is a rare, and precious, trait.

19. Name up to three players next to the following descriptions:

• Best players (based exclusively on their ability as players, not i.e. their personality);
• Opponents you respect the most;
• Favourite forum members (if you are a registered forum member);

      - The best player, again, would be BeckyLynch for the reasons I gave above.
      - The opponent I respect the most would have to be Cimorene of Cloud 69. I don’t know why, but if I’m going to lose a duel, it’s usually to her.

20. Is there any message you'd like to send the Big Bang Empire community?

Since reaching the top of the glory board, I have been inundated with messages from beginners. Granted, some of these messages were simple hello, and quite a few of them were crude remarks, but most of them were questions about how to play the game. I try to answer them the best I can, but what always surprised me what how shocked they were that I even replied. It seems they feel the high-level payers ignore them. I don’t know if that’s true, and I hope it’s not, but we were all beginners at one time. It doesn’t take long to answer a question.

21. Which boosters do you usually buy? Which do you deem the most important?

Boosters are one of the few things I spend diamonds on, so I usually get all of them, but the most important, I think, is the skill booster. Without it, I’d lose over 1k points on each skill.

22. How many diamonds do you buy each month?

I don’t buy as many diamonds as some people might think. I’ll usually purchase the ten sterling pack every other month, which comes to about twelve dollars. I also take advantage of the promotional packs, but I try to keep the spending of real money, on virtual diamonds, down to a minimum.

23. Your star is one ranked with top glory. Can you advise us in how to choose our duels?

There’s nothing I can say about winning a duel that most players don’t already know. If your stats are higher, you have a better chance of winning. When I was making my way up the list, I would only fight those duels where three or all of my stats were higher. It didn’t even matter which stats they were. I also took refinements into consideration. It wasn’t even about which refinements, it was about how many. The more refinements you have, the better your chances of winning. I’ve lost matches where my stats have been over two thousand points higher, simply because of the refinements.

That's all for this months Garage Interview!  Thank you Emara for your time and best wishes from the BBE Moderating team!

Great interview!  :) I feel like quality porn stars are still there though, it's just there is so much porn now, it's not just films going to (adult) cinemas which is a big investment, it's dozens (hundreds?) of videos going online every week and so many are just performers doing nothing but being filmed having sex. It's like we had the hollywood golden age with films made around big name stars, now we're in the age of b-movies where they just make so many so cheap. There's some cool stuff though.
